Starline recently introduced their concept of raceway.  This system offers the best in flexibility and the easy installation of raceway.  That is where similarities to other systems end.

 

The Starline Plug-in Raceway system uses a "busway" system to provide 20, 40 or 60 amps, 120/208 or 277/480.  With its customization capability, optional isolated grounding, plug-in modules available in single or 3 phase, complete with independent branch curcuit breakers, a variety of feeds and datacom channel options, this is an extremely capable system.

The intermateability specification allows Walther products to mate with other manufacturer's devices that meet the same standard, IEC 309-1/2.  This is also a safe device in that it is sized by amperage (16, 32, 63 and 125 International, 20, 30 60 and 100 US of A) and voltage is keyed in relation to the first mate, last break ground pin.

 

This offers the safety that is required when plugging unloaded devices into sockets.  Providing the wiring is done according to codes, the mating pair will always be of correct voltage and amperage.  By adding interlocks, this device is made even safer.

Walther's mechanical interlock receptacles are built to IEC 309-1 and 309-2 specifications and are completely compatible with not only Walther IEC 309-2 plugs, but with any manufacturer's plugs that conform to the IEC standards and coding system...anywhere in the world.

Safety

Designed to combine a disconnect switch and a receptacle into one compact device. Walther's mechanical interlock receptacles eliminate the possibility of making or breaking the circuit under load or making a haphazard connection. A mechanism within the enclosure prevents the switch from being turned to the "ON" position until the plug is fully engaged into the receptacle. Once inserted, the plug is locked in place when the switch is turned on and can't be removed until the switch is turned to the "OFF" position. This prevents making or breaking the circuit under load.

The integration of the switch and the receptacle in a single, compact enclosure encourages the safe operating practice of disconnecting at the switch rather than the plug and receptacle.

The nonmetallic enclosure, while abuse and corrosion resistant, is also non conductive, which enhances the safety of the product. The device can be connected to metallic conduit without interfering with the ground continuity. All mechanical interlock receptacles provide lockout protection for greater safety and complies with OSHA Lockout/Tagout requirements.

Starline Flexible Busway provides power where you need it, when you need it.  The pluggable 'drops' can be placed virtually anywhere along the bus system, while the bus remains hot, without the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
